Bob Shea Storytime

on October 17, 2012

So last week I did a Bob Shea storytime to prepare for his visit to MY library.  That’s right people, he came to my library and I even had dinner with him! (This is all because the amazing Seth is friends with him on twitter and Bob was on his book tour and asked if he could come to our library.  The power of social networking!)  He’s such a nice guy too.  Oh, if you don’t know who he is then go read his books.  I’ll wait here.  They’re awesome, right?!  Let me just tell you that this storytime was awesome.  The kids loved every part of it!  Here is my handout:

And to go along with the book I’m a Shark, we made these pretty sweet shark hats.  I found the tutorial here.

Here are a few pics from his visit too!

Here is me and Bob (I call him Bob now)

Here is Bob drawing.  What could it be??

That’s right!  Dinosaur!!!

Here is Bob reading one of his books.

Here is a picture of the dance party he drew! (Jelly bean dance party, he draws a lot of his characters from the shape of beans!)

The program that he did was awesome.  We had 84 people attend!  What I love about him is that not only can he write and draw, but he can also talk to a crowd!  People were laughing the whole time.  Be sure to check out his newest book too, Dinosaur VS Santa!  It’s a good one 🙂
