New Years Party

Today I had my 8th annual New Year’s Party for the little kids.  It was a smashing success as always!  Here is an outline of what I did:

The kids first came in and decorated their part hats with sequins, feathers, and pipe cleaners

Read There was a Cold Lady who Swallowed Some Snow By: Lucille Colandro

Danced to the Silly Dance Contest by Jim Gill with scarves

Read Winter Woes By: Marty Kelley

Danced to the Hokey Pokey

Had sparking apple cider and cookies

Passed out noise makers and confetti and had a countdown to New Year’s!

The kids loved everything about it.

  1. The book “There was an Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow” is that the same style as The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly?

It is! She swallows a scarf, coal, a pipe, snow etc. In the end she hiccups and out pops a snowman! The kids really get into it because the whole time we’re all guessing as to why she swallowed those things.
